Like all languages, Greek has many words which could have more than one meaning. The right meaning is determined by the context. ScriptureDirect shows you all the possible meanings with the right meaning for that context underlined. You can also browse all the meanings and decide whether you agree with the editor's choice - putting you in control. If you click on any one meaning, you see a Description, Translation Words and Examples for that meaning (see 3 below). 1. If you move your mouse over or click any English or Greek word, the equivalent word(s) from the other language is clearly shown. 2. All the possible meanings for the clicked Greek word are shown. The recommended meaning for the context is underlined. If you click on any of the meanings the description appears on the right hand side. 3. The Louw Nida dictionary has been reformatted by ScriptureDirect to present the Meaning, Translation Words and Examples clearly. Further translation words and examples have been added by Prof Johannes Louw. This easy to use meaning function empowers any user to see, browse and work with any word in the Greek New Testament. No longer is it the privilege of a few to say "in Greek this word means ..."
