ScriptureDirect is the latest software program on the market which has as its objective to make the Greek text of the New Testament accessible to the Bible Student. This program offers one all the features of other programs, plus a lot more. It gives one the Greek text, the parsing of each Greek word, the meaning of each Greek word (based on the Greek-English Lexicon of J P Louw & E A Nida), and a literal translation. Another feature of this program is that it gives an outline of the entire Greek New Testament.

This outline is offered in such a creative and interesting way, that it really invites the user to study it. The result is that no one who is using this program can stray away from the text of the New Testament. It forces one to read every sentence within its wider context. The outline is a solid and an excellent piece of academic work. This comes as no surprise, since it was done by two great scholars, namely by Prof. Johannes P Louw (one of the Editors of the well-known Greek-English Lexicon based on semantic domains) and Dr. Bennie Wolvaardt (Principal of Veritas College International).

Numerous other valuable information is being given by the program, such as a clear map of Ancient Israel, a map of Paul’s journeys and enough background of each Bible Book, such as its genre and its authorship. All the data is being given in a creative and colourful way. This program is so user-friendly that it can be used by both a student without any knowledge of Greek, and by the specialist. Moreover, the program itself is so simple to use, that I mastered it within a couple of minutes. I am sure that ScriptureDirect will become one of the most important exegetical tools in the hand of everyone who is serious to explore the Greek text of the New Testament.

I can recommend ScriptureDirect to each one who is eager to work with the original text of the Bible, whether (s)he knows Greek or not.

A great (and I think unique) tool for those who want to study the NT

ScriptureDirect is a great asset in studying the New Testament. It includes the original Greek together with a fresh translation, but what makes this software unusual is that Greek words are explained according to Meaning. This means, that you can look up a word and not just see the range of meanings it has, but what it actually means in that verse, in that context. It also enables you to move from that word to other occurences of the same word, with the same meaning, in other Bible passages. A great (and I think unique) tool for those who want to study the NT. This programme is linked in it's layout of the Bible passages and with its other tools to the Veritas College training course. There is also a great little video that you can view that gives an inventive way of looking at understanding the Bible. I would use the video alone with people to help them to see how we get to grips with the message of the Bible. Great bit of software for under $100.

... a tool that is useful to all who wish to study the Bible, scholars as well as those with fewer academic skills.

ScriptureDirect utilizes technological advances to lend user-friendly access to insights provided by the best scholarship in Biblical Hermeneutics.

Johannes P. Louw has done ground-breaking work in applying insights gained from linguistic studies to studying New Testament Greek. This work has tremendous implications for the interpretation of the Bible. The scientific discipline of linguistics has facilitated greater objectivity in discovering the great truths contained in the Holy Scriptures, thereby producing more reliable conclusions about the intended meaning of passages of Scripture.

Veritas College, under the leadership of Bennie Wolvaardt, has designed an approach to Hermeneutics that follows a step-by-step process to ensure that all relevant information is taken into consideration when biblical passages are studied.

ScriptureDirect incorporates all of the above to provide a tool that is useful to all who wish to study the Bible, scholars as well as those with fewer academic skills. Optimal use of technological devices and clear instructions make it truly user-friendly to everyone, no matter what degree of technological expertise the user possesses.
